Cloudkicker: 'A New Heavenly Body' with altered mix available

6

Ben Sharp, AKA Cloudkicker, has indicated on a message board that he has uploaded a new version of his recently released EP 'A New Heavenly Body', which is a remix of his earlier EP ']]][[['.

The new version has a slightly altered mix to fix issues with the kick drum sound. Ben Sharp writes: "Yeah I totally screwed the pooch with that kick sound. The whole reason I remixed it was because I wanted to get used to the new monitors I got and I guess I had the subwoofer turned up way too loud, which obviously would make the kick sound overpowering even at a normal level. After I realized that I went back and fiddled around with it a little more and re-uploaded it."

It is unclear at which point in time the EP was reuploaded. To verify whether you have the or the new version, you can compare the file sizes of the songs below, provided that you opted for the 320kbps MP3 version:

Track 1: old 14744564, new 14757103
Track 2: old 10296433, new 10295388
Track 3: old 13432172, new 13421723

Hm, yeah, sorry folks.

I'm glad he remixed it, the kick drum was REALLY weak in the mix. I preferred the old ]]][[[ album due to the better mix.

Yeah, I checked it out. It does certainly sound better but not by much. I still prefer the sound of the original ]]][[[

Nice first post tremby, would read again.

Tremby, try following your own advice. Wink

The new EP was REuploaded with a new mix, after initially re-releasing the EP. To put in plain English, A New Heavenly Body has been released for the second time, hence the post Benanne uploaded. Please, do your research before posting idiotic replies.

You are an idiot. Did you even read the article?

"It is unclear at which point in time the EP was reuploaded."

Well look at the Bandcamp page! It quite clearly says "]]][[[ remixed and remastered. Re-released 11 November 2010."

And regarding figuring out whether you have new or old versions, you might have also noticed that the old versions of the songs are called "#", "%" and "$" whereas the new versions have much longer names.

Also, there was a post about it on this very website: http://got-djent.com/article/cloudkicker-releases-remixed-version
