Ever Forthright have succesfully released the most successful and epic debut album of all time, congratulations everyone that gets to hear this for the remaining years humans have not evolved past ears
Awesome album =)
In my opinion; the best was saved for last.
Truly a piece of art. I feel like admiring some Rembrandt and then burning it afterwards.
S1L3nCe...whatever
This CD has now rocketed to my favorite Djent CD of the year and is my second favorite CD overall second only (and a close second mind you) to the Devin Townsend Project's "Deconstruction". Track 6 makes me want to smash something (in a good way), but tracks 9, 10, and 12 are my biggest favorites currently.
It's not too bad! I was expecting a more mature affair, though! There was sax, more towards the ends of songs, until the 5th track! That is where this cd began to get interesting for me. For some reason I wasn't thinking it would be so angst-fully/djent...but more adult jazz-oriented. A little mis-leading! The sixth track has a progressive tone, effect driven, but good! Over-all 7.5/8, out of 10! Not bad, definitely worth your time, if your into kick-ass music that's offering something a little different!
As they get older, I can see this being my favorite band! Meshuggah meets Gohren & Der Club of Gore!(if you haven't checked out G&DCG/ do yourself a favor, try it)!
apparently instrumental tracks arent music anymore...?

Within this 'djenre', if you will, (and I don't care what you say about the D-word, it is in the name of this website and you'll get over it) there seems to be a collective love for "baouuw", "djent", "chunnnnn" "ch-b-bao, ch-baooou" and other likewise onomatopoeia. The difference between these bands is in the atmosphere. I listen to Tesseract when I need a reality check and to re-center. I listen to Vildhjarta when I'm ready to destroy something and/or return from the dead. Uneven Structure makes me want the others to arrive NOW and my ears to melt from pure drone-gasm. Periphery is party time - it always brings me up. Cilice seems to make me foam at the mouth and twitch a tad? Don't resist!.. you get what I'm saying. You all know the emotions you feel from each one - maybe mine are the same as some of you too. I'm sure Ever Forthright will fit your tiny palates as well. Besides, your iPods still have plenty of space left on them you elitist consumer whores... ;P
Yeah, you're right benanne. As usual. I'm keeping my comments to myself ha.
Can't argue with that, strong arguments, totally agree.
Comments like "how anyone could enjoy X more than Y is beyond me" kinda grind my gears. Have you considered that maybe they don't enjoy music in the same fashion as you do? Perhaps they like and appreciate different aspects of the music? IMO, the fact that you can't understand why their preferences are different says more about you than it does about them
I don't listen it yet but saying that is better than Masstaden and Februus it's a risky comment. I'm going to check it out and see it by myself.
This album is growing on me. I wasn't feeling it too much the first time around because I felt that it was to close to Periphery in terms of singing. It will make my top 10 for sure though.
Haha, yes! Thank you HB Dad. Uneven Structure's album was good but how anyone could put it past Vildjharta much less this album is beyond me.
Better than Februus "a stretch"? You've got to be fucking kidding me! Februus had too many interludes and disc 2 was pointless! It was like a cat fell asleep on a keyboard for 35 minutes! The actual songs on that album are fantastic but there are not enough! Even if there were, it's hard to beat the musicianship and songwriting of EF! To top it off, 75 of the 78 minutes on EF is pure music (there's only one short instrumental track) so it is also a great purchase value!
Fuckinn Bad. asss!!!
It's pretty good but for me, saying it's better than Masstaden or Februus is a hell of a stretch
Ever Forthright > Masstaden 4 me.
Flame in 3,2,1....
Love both the instrumental and vocal mixes.... truellyy an extraordinaryyy release. I think this may make the top five!
My CD finally arrived this morning! AFter a complete playthrough on my way to work (yes, all 78 minutes of it), I can honestly say it is close to the best Djent album this year. I think Vildhjarta might be slightly better but I have a feeling this CD will continue to be a grower!
Honestly, i can't stop listening. If this got the same exposure as all those other bands it would definitely, without a doubt be album of the year.
I'm not even sure I'd call it djent tbh. I think their main page sums it up quite nicely (if a mouthful...)
"progressive experimental technical groove jazz metal" re-arranged slightly to give it a bit more of a ring =]
Either way, it's very cool. Adventurous.
the ultimate result of this album regarding on 2012 will be that AVERAGE DJENT WILL NOT SURVIVE.
jdwyer: WORD.!`
My opinion: WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS ALBUM?` This statement might seem to be a bit harsh and perhaps even offensive, but Vildhjarta and Uneven Structure (and even TesseracT, who are so fond to my heart) can go to HELL, THIS IS THE ALBUM OF THE YEAR! (After my own personal favorites, Born of Osiris' The Discovery and Shattered Skies' Reanimation.:$ ) It puts both its feet into PERIPHERY debut album's BUTT! NOT KIDDING!` This album may going to be the new standard in the genre.
Boss album. Will not finish 1st in my top 5...buut daaaaaamn these guys are awesome!
Instrumental part and Chris' growls - 10/10
Chris' (backstreet boys) clean vocals on the other hand are not really to my taste.
i retract my previous statement
im not as into this as much as some other people are. the first few songs are really awesome but it starts getting really weird with like metal rap vocals and female bluesy vocals. it also seems like they fall into a rut with the songs utilizing the same type of riff or style over and over despite all the experimentalism and progressiveness. maybe just need to give it a few more listens. at the moment though id give it maybe 8/10 but i wont vote that on the album page until ive had more time to listen to it
true story
This is an awesome album. A must-have, Xmas present to yourself!
baretto is a fucking boss
djazzzzzzzzzzzzzz in my pants
