Exclusive: video interview with Vildhjarta
A large portion of the got-djent.com team attended Euroblast festival in Cologne, Germany last month, and we used this opportunity to record a couple of video interviews. Our video interview with Vildhjarta is second one in the series. Watch it below, or click through to YouTube for better video quality. Check out our first interview with the festival organisers as well!
Unfortunately we've had some problems with the video footage, but we've tried to make the most of it. It is definitely our weirdest looking interview yet, but considering it's with Vildjharta, maybe that's fitting. Subtitles in English are available, click the 'CC' icon at the bottom right of the video to enable them.
Site moderator Zyglrob has also published his in-depth review of the album, in which he also shares his view on the concept behind it.
We are currently hosting a forum Q&A with the band. If you feel that this interview has left some questions unanswered, you can ask the band directly on our forums.

this was a fun thing to do
high five Khomenko and Mastodon! haha
haha - nice! You can hit me up for a ton of gear if you're ever in the northeastern US and need a hand. Within reason that is!
I know, no worries
I wasn't hating on you guys, this interview made my morning coffee more interesting than without, keep up the work.
Finding the micstand was easy, all I did was ask. Always make friends with the helping hands and the organizers doesn't hurt as well
.
Yes, somehow I ended up with both the camera and the microphone and started asking questions (as usual T_T). I can't remember how that situation arose but the interviews on day 2 were a lot better (shoutout to blckrvn for finding a mic stand). It was also our first time with the equipment, as benanne mentioned we are non-profit and were relying on the generosity of others to provide us with it. That said, I also felt the footage was well below par but hey those vildhjarta guys are pretty reclusive and the truth needs to be heard
also MASTODON.
Virtualdub deshaker, actually
looks like AE stabilization
Was the cameraman drunk? I felt like I was drunk watching this.
That's what happens when the camera guy also starts to ask questions and pass the mic around
As I've mentioned before, the footage we had to work with was extremely rough. I was actually going to bin it, but the band themselves convinced us to put it out anyway. I don't hold it against him or anything, we are all amateurs and we all did our best for these interviews, but I still think it's very disappointing that we got the opportunity to conduct Vildhjarta's first ever video interview, and then this is what we deliver. Ah well, at least it's out now
pretty rough video but I enjoyed the interview. they need to make more interviews with these guys, with..perhaps pre written questions that go a bit more in depth. CM should get on it.
Great interview...need a little work on the camera tho. But thanks for that interview!
Thanks for being constructive jordy
We are amateurs, so we work with what we've got. As a non-profit venture we aren't able to invest in material so we just count on the help and goodwill of others. So in general it's unlikely that we'll have access to two cameras, let alone that we'd have the manpower (with the right skills) to make that work. That said, the footage for this interview was particularly... problematic. We tried our best to make it watchable.
I'm not a video editing expert, so you can't expect much from me in the way of post-production. In the past we've had help from Igor Omodei, among others, who obviously have a talent for this kind of stuff. But they're not always available unfortunately!
As for the location: once again, we worked with what we had. This was the only room back stage that wasn't swarming with people, so we made good use of it. And it was pretty cold outside, as you probably remember
If you have any particular talents in this area, we'd be happy to make use of them, by the way!
I really like the question you always ask in interviews, in depth and stuff. But you really need to work on the presentation of the whole interview, it's always filmed in this dark shady rooms. Get some better lightning, a little bit of post-production and maybe a second camera for close up shots (something like a Nikon or a Canon camera) because it's not very entertaining watching a 10min video from a single shot. LIke the interview though!
Nope, but the band have mentioned they might use it in a song in the future. There, I've added it to our FAQ
http://got-djent.com/faq#t1088n13150
My god, its catchy. Anywhere that we can get that jingle from?
That's our jingle, Auré from Uneven Structure did it for us! God, we really need to add that question to the FAQ
What is the song in the beginning of the trailer?
