wow, i would have never guessed that these 2 genre's would collide, and sound as awesome as this.
i have to say, these guys have become an instant favorite to me.

This combination of rap and djent is so original and so awesome! but the breakdown without vocals sounds too much like meshuggah's perpetual black second riff. the lyrics are sick "pupils dilated sedated open your mind to what weve designed" some sick shit. it would be awesome to get the tabs for this!

>>implying there are riffs in this song that Meshuggah didn't influence

you gotta admit for what it is the rap vocals/lyrics over metal I think that they have nailed the mix pretty damn good!

Djent Against the Machine?

Yeah, definitely looking forward to some more tunes. I'm liking this more than their first track. I feel that 'Cold Shoulders' grooves better.

The contrast of that clean singing with the rap vocals, are provoking emotions that are random! Intense! Being from the u.s., hearing Grime with the English accent is beyond awesome! Can not get enough!

Oh... cool! My bad...

That's the guitarist and main songwriter, Tim James. So yeah, he's part of the band Tongue

Awesome tunes but, what's up with random dude showing up towards the end and singing? Is he part of the band?

Sorry already taken...lol

Hacktivist made me realise that it's not the vocal delivery of rap I hate, it's the cuntish lyrics and dour backing tracks.

Well Said Intelli_Djent

wow i fucking love this!! new favorite band<3

This band would be better as an instrumental

Not my cup of tea-- but they WILL find a group, if they haven't already, that will love them like it's their job. Good luck to them! Push forward.

The thing is, they don't even take themselves as serious as we're critiquing them. This is an experiment that seems successful from what I've read. This isn't Linkin Park or Hollywood Undead. This isn't Meshuggah influenced riffs; this is Hacktivist, a band wanting to make a name for themselves. For people saying that the vocals don't mesh well: Why doesn't it mesh? The mix is where it needs to be. It lets the atonal instruments take their course while the vocals carry the song along (around 4:07, you can't argue against that being a beautiful harmony between vocalist and instrumentalist). They have a certain appeal that isn't found in music that experiments as much as theirs. They know what they are doing; don't doubt their abilities from two songs and a teaser...

I have a feeling there's about to be a million horrible imitations of this band. Fortunately these guys know what they're doing.

how bout ted nu-djent?

I simply love it, but I prefer the old one. But I have a problem with the lyrics, I´m spanish and I barely understand the lyrics, It´s very hard to understand rap voices, so if anyone could send me the lyrics I´d be very grateful Smile

i like the rap vocals during certain parts especially the part at 2:53. however, i feel like it is overused. i agree with a lot of people that it doesnt mesh well. it seems gimmicky. if they found a healthy medium between singing/screaming/rap vocals etc, i feel like this would be pure gold.

I gotta say I really appreciate how 'civilised' the negative comments are on here Smile especially compared to some of the stuff I read on Facebook / YouTube...

Personally i think this would have sounded rather neat with Neema on, i do kinda like it but i find the vocals a little lacking, but im really interested to hear some more.

Great lyrics, great instruments... and although I was apprehensive I think I like the vocals, really heavy sounding! This is much better than their other song which was on here a while back.

Rap and Djent.....thats pretty Awesome, I'm digging the sound

Nah, not my style...

I love it

We will now have a new genre called: nu-djent Tongue
Good track though (musically) but im not into rap stuff either.

@ breakdown: Ah, ok. Still, using three singers in a song is somewhat interesting to hear. The clean part at the end gives the whole thing some sort of special boost. The rap vocals don't even get a chance to become boring.

Personally, don't like the rap/metal. It doesn't really mesh well for me. Love the instruments, Love the lyrics, don't love them together.

@GeN2Mo: There are 2 vocalists in the band, the last clean part is done by guitarist Timfy James if i'm not wrong Smile
And yeah, i kinda agree with Jak there Tongue

My god, is this good. I knew this band could be something special but this? Wow. Those rap vocals emphasize this rhythm-based style of riffing so much that it basically goes through five roofs in a row.
Such agreat idea.
And three singers? That alone is cool as a band concept somehow.

I'm loving it! :DDD

You may have a point there Jak Tongue

The music is super sick, but I'm really not in to the rap crossover thing at all personally.

Instrumental release plz!

This stuff is great!!! Can't wait for full release!

This is great!!! Lovin' this!

This deserves to be a featured article. Timfy James' writing style is incredible and this is a powerful piece of art.

Also, J. Hurley is hot.

I like it!

Fuckin Awesome !!! Love The Flow !!

Holy crap sounds amazing!
