TesseracT confirm Elliot Coleman as their new vocalist (updated)

Hold Tight! PR has released a statement from TesseracT, confirming that vocalist Dan Tompkins has left the band and is being replaced by Elliot Coleman (Sky Eats Airplane, Of Legends, Of Man Not Of Machine, Zelliack). TesseracT performed their first show with Elliot in Milton Keynes, UK last weekend, after which rumours started to surface.

These rumours have now been confirmed through official channels. Elliot says: "I'm very much excited to be a part of the juggernaut that is TesseracT. I know I have big shoes to fill as Dan is a fantastic vocalist, but i'm confident that we'll be producing some great new music in the coming year and i'll be adding some new flavours to this ever evolving machine." Dan had apparently already left the band in July, citing 'a change in life priorities' as the reason.

UPDATE: in an interview on Totalrock Radio this evening, Elliot Coleman confirmed that he has left Of Legends, where he played bass.

Here you can listen to a song with Elliot Coleman... Quality isn't great but nonetheless I don't think I'm a fan of his voice for Tesseract :s
He just doesn't give me the feeling that Dan did... we shall see at Euroblast

I admit it, I'm not happy. It's a so radical change. Elliot is a good singer, but it didn't fit with TesseracT, not like Dan do it. I'm sure that TesseracT will change completely with this. It's strange, because IMO their music was near of perfection, and I don't know how will be now. After knowing the reasons, I really respect the Dan's decision, he's looking for different things right now, and I accept too the decision of the band of let him go, but you're wrong if you're thinking that Elliot can ever replace Dan. It will be so different. I'm not saying good or bad, but different.

Why can't anyone be happy about this? Elliot is beyond talented, and no other vocalist is best suited to front tesseract. For fucks sake, be happy for once and grateful you elitists.

I laugh in the face of Century Media for not tearing up their contract with this new troll at the helm. There's something very "preteen angst" about him, and his inevitable lyrics for what WAS TesseracT. R.I.P.

Change in life priorities? Dan + TesseracT (or as I would say, TesseracT) seemed to be the best possible mixture of sound. His angelic voice over the AxeFX sound they used was perfect. I'd hate to see this end like periphery with someone like Sortello coming and STAYING when they had CHRIS BARRETTO.... DAMNIT

okay. i hate to say it but i was really disappointed with one. especially considering i heard it all already before it even came out. just the sheer amount of time spent waiting for all these bands to put out albums is making me less and less interested. specifically vildhjarta and uneven structure which need to come out asap before i go crazy
