What happened to this demo? think theyll ever hash this out into something more? best recordings with elliot so far imo

Dude, are you Serious?

Surprisingly, even if i agree with about all the comments (good or bad) about Elliot, the voice isn't the problem here for me. The beginning really sounds like Fellsilent, then nothing really new happens until 1:19... and the ELECTRO PART ? WTF ?
And finally a typical Fellsilent end.

Ellito reminds me of Jeff Buckley, which is nice, especially since he's dead and can't offer us new sound, but the music sounds like TesseracT played by TesseracT. Ô_o
(sorry for bad english, as usual..)

I liked Dan's voice better.

At the start of it there's some held out dissonant notes that he does I can't imagine hearing from Dan. I'm not 100% convinced these sort of jazzy melodies will work with their sound necessarily... I'm surprised this is the clip they chose to feature him for the first time. Maybe it will just take some getting used to, though.

The reason I think Dan (and other vocalists of awesome tech bands) worked so well is that he was able to play off the odd/unusual timing and make it "feel" more straight by accenting the right spots. I don't really feel that's being done as well as it could be in the clip above (especially around 0:30 when the snare comes in).

I agree with the post that says the chorus at the end was much better than the verse at the start, though. I don't feel like all hope is lost or anything, I am still looking forward to new Tesseract, but at this point I prefer Tompkins.

Side note: I think Eliot was a great choice, but does anyone else think Justin Hill would have been the perfect replacement for Dan?

I think this is a good preview for what Elliot has to offer. I realize that he sounds nothing like Dan, and that many TesseracT fans have been bashing him on fb and various message boards. We need to remember that Dan abandoned us, and that Elliot is doing his best to replace someone who many of us saw as being irreplaceable. He's got a tough job ahead of him and I hope he sticks with it. Keep up the good work Elliot.

Uuuuuuuuuuuugh. He might work if Ive never heard their old vox. But compared to him, this is terrible. Still love them though, Ill just have to get past the vocals

not really a fan when he goes super high, but other parts sound good. hopefully they master mixing with him and get the sound that makes elliot sound the best.

unfortunately their current one isn't doing me so great, hope they improve it. that being said i dont think it was necessarily bad that Dan left, i think elliot has a lot of potential.

Sounds like Circa Survive with Djent Riffs.
Potential... Maybe we just need to get used to the voice.
Took me a while to get used to Dan when Abi left.
IMO Abi was the best singer of Tesseract.
But Elliot may convince me otherwise.
As I said, there is potential.

it's not gonna be the vocalist whom decides if I'm gonna dig this shit or not. I love their music. if their music goes less serious than it was, probably I'm not gonna listen to it so much, but I love this stuff so far so prolly I'm gonna.

his voice is so high yet the band is so low, good potential but needs work imo

not feelin this. the riff sounds like Emerge by fellsilent. acle already did it lol

hmmm at the beginning I was like meh I felt like I was listening to different songs at the same time, but the last 30 seconds was okay to me. Elliot is an amazing singer but I guess his voice tone is bit too high for their music and they don't mix very well...maybe he could try to sing low pitched...I don't know...we should just give him another try cause he really has a potential.

sounds like Cedric from The Mars Volda...

Beginning sounds horrible, gets better towards the end.

Bad. Ass. It sounds exactly as I imagined it would!!! Congrats Elliot... this is truly amazing.

I plead the "Misha" amendment.

I don't know, man...... Sounds so different. The Tunes are awesome but, I gotta say dude has style.

-G-

Erm...i hope there's better than this. Sad No offence to Elliot of course. I'll give him a fair chance as everyone should but almost everything about that particular segment just sounded bad. I really hope the mixing improves this and the lyrical structure is changed.

Damn, Elliot's got some pipes on him - it's not the Tesseract I know and love, but I'm sure their next release will be a fantastic evolution!

Don't really like the vocal melody's but I think I can to get used to this guy. Maybe with a slightly better mix but damn after a few listens I can really say this sounds promising!

digging it. elliot's gonna take a little getting used to, but I can already tell he's being put to good use. can't wait til they tour with btbam.
