Textures vocalist leaves the band

1

Textures have just announced that their vocalist Eric Kalsbeek has left the band to focus on his job and his family. He says:
"Dear fans & friends,

I decided to quit Textures. My life changed, priorities shifted. I can’t cope with the heavy touring and the time investment anymore. I need to focus on my job and family. I need to take a few steps back. I’ve had six beautiful years with the band, did loads of amazing shows, made tons of new friends and created some mind-blowing music. I’m going to miss the guys, and of course you, the fans. I know Textures will continue to conquer the world and give you all great, heavy and awesome music. I wish my successor all the best.
I will keep on making music, but something totally different, much more low-profile. Maybe we will meet again. Eric out”

The band embarked on tours through Russia and India only recently. They also indicate that they are currently auditioning a replacement and that the release date for their next album has been pushed back to the beginning of 2011.

You know, the same was said when Pieter Verpaalen was replaced by Eric Kalsbeek. Even by the time "Silhouettes" hit, there were still people who prefered the vocal style of "Polars". Of course, changing the singer changes a bands sound very much but I never saw the vocals as the defining element of Textures.

I'm reading what i wrote months ago with my old account (twilightened), and after hearing the new single, i can now see how wrong i've been. Eric actually was everything. It's unbelievable.

By the way, meant "not ONLY to its members", i made a typo there Smile

I suppose you're right, it probably won't be that bad. Still sucks that the new album's been delayed, though Sad

Well, to look on the bright side, Textures sound actually owes its massive success, not to its members, but the slick production quality, which i think is also made by the members. So the vocals of Eric, sounding so huge to us, is not just Eric's awesomeness, but also how they pull it off in the production process. So in the light of this, i think i can say, they won't be able to find another Eric of course, but they still can make it sound great somehow.

fuckin' entropy Sad btw, the fact that nobody has put thumbs up for this article by now is remarkable Tongue

They want me commit suicide !!!!!!!!

First Periphery, now Textures ... fuck !

Woah, this suck balls, Iloved Eric. Sad I'm sure they'll find someone great though.

I guess it's the second law of thermodynamics

Nature only lets a band to be that perfect for so long Smile

And boom goes the dynamite !

This punishment is enough for us for the whole year. No more bad news please.

Bad news ...

what the.. Shock

This sucks hard. FUCK.
