Initially conceived in 2009 by Guitarist TK, Akarusa Yami began taking shape in September 2010 when Vocalist Tom Brumpton discussed with him the idea of starting a new band. Both having spent several years playing in other outfits such as Insidious, Cacodaemonic and Kallous; they combined their love of progressive metal with the merciless grinds of industrial music to create their debut album “Ouroborous”.

Quickly enlisted Scarlet's Wake Drummer Adam Jones, ex-Keltic Jihad Guitarist Damian Lee and Bassist Jake Bennett to help bring their malevolent creations to life, Akarusa Yami have gone from strength to strength in a short period of time. Their debut singles ‘Third Eye, Wide Open’ and ‘Millennium Is My Salvation’ have featured on numerous radio stations internationally, including Kink FM in Holland, RTS in Switzerland and Amazing Radio & Total Rock in the UK. Total Rock loved the band so much AY took part in a two hour interview with TR’s Mad Maz.

Following a triumphant set at this year’s Bloodstock Festival, Nottingham metallers Akarusa Yami have posted their debut EP ‘Ouroboros’ on their Soundcloud page for streaming, one month ahead of its September release date. The album, which has received favourable reviews from the likes of Terrorizer, who described the EP as “Face ripping” and Zero Tolerance, who described said “Will definitely raise an eyebrow or two amongst extreme metal fans”, has allowed AY to prove both their prowess and finesse.

All the above however has been leading to the release of their debut album “Ouroboros” Set for release on September 12th digitally, “Ouroboros” is a diverse combination of vicious riffage, scathing vocals, soaring melodies and hyperspeed drum work; underpinned by a theme true to the album’s name. Mastered by Tim Turan (Emperor, Plan B), “Ouroboros” takes a step away from the generic and opts instead for something more substantial and defining. An ethos the band has remained steadfast to.

The EP can be streamed from here - http://www.soundcloud.com/akarusa-yami and will be will be available worldwide from September 12th 2011 from all online music retailers.

Hard working, fast rising and deeply engrossing; Akarusa Yami are set for big things over the next twelve months. Watch this space.
