Originally a side-project of John Browne (ex-Fellsilent) and Josh Travis (The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza), Monuments changed its line-up in 2010 to become an active live band, and was fronted by Neema (ex-Fellsilent). Paul Ortiz (Chimp Spanner) has been playing guitar during their recent tours. It is regarded by some to be the spiritual successor to the now defunct Fellsilent.
After The LXD tour Olly Steele became a full member of the band. Shortly after John Browne Filling in for Periphery on their US tour right after the LXD Tour in Febuary 2011 a massive change in the line-up with Greg and Neema leaving Monuments put everything on hold again. After 9 hard month of thoughts about the future and endless auditions Monuments found with Matt Rose (The Qemists) the proper replacement to record and release their debut album 'Gnosis' in August 2012 after signing a worldwide deal with Century Media Records. Following the release Monuments played the Euroblast Tour in October/November 2012 together with Jeff Loomis, Vildhjarta and Stealing Axion. 2013 will begin for Monuments with another European tour supporting Born of Osiris together with After The Burial and The HAARP Machine before preparing for a load of summer festivals.
On 24th March 2013 it was announced via Twitter that Matt Rose and the band had parted ways.
