  • Martin Andres

Pomegranate Tiger is a Canadian instrumental progressive metal project formed by multi-instrumentalist Martin Andres in 2010 while attending the University of Windsor in Canada. The initial members included Martin Andres (guitars and drums) and Chase Bryant (bass) in 2008. In 2009 guitarist, Matthew Shaheen, joined the project, which was originally called Rock-a-saurus Rex. In 2010 the band wanted to start playing live shows so they recruited drummer, Phil Gatti. From 2010-2013 the group began co-writing their debut record, Entities, with Martin Andres. It was during this time the name Pomegranate Tiger was decided on whilst looking through Salvador Dali paintings. Keith Wilkinson joined the project in 2012 after Chase Bryant left to further his studies in music.

On January 31, 2013, Entities hit stores worldwide becoming the #1 best-selling album on bandcamp in the metal category, and the #11 best-selling album on bandcamp in all genres. The band also broke the top 100 in the iTunes top album sales in rock, and top 60 in the metal category the first week of the release.

In the summer of 2013 Phil Gatti left the project to pursue other endeavors. The group searched for a replacement drummer through 2014 and found Brandon White to play lead guitar while Andres switched to the drums. In 2014 the group began co-writing new material for the album “Boundless” with Martin Andres. In late 2014 Brandon White and Matt Shaheen left Pomegranate Tiger to pursue other endeavors. Throughout 2015 Martin Andres continued writing and producing alongside producer, AJ Minette, a follow-up record titled Boundless. Chase Bryant returned as guest bassist on the new record with Martin Andres fulfilling all other instrumental duties. The new record is scheduled to be released December 11, 2015.

Yes. Scale the Summit released The Migration album. Smile
If someone likes PT, will probably like StS as well. Even youtube knows this Smile I wouldn't have found PT without the related videos feature.

Holy crap, been listening to this like crazy in the 24 hours since it came out. Fucking good as hell. Digging the lack of vocals too; it really lets you focus on the awesomeness of the music itself.
