Wretches started off as a solo project of Alex Baumann in late 2012. After writing really dark, downtuned, mostly midtempo, freestructured songs with a drum machine, and not really expecting anyone to like it, he posted some demos online, and received an extremely positive response. He decided at that point that it would be crazy not to turn the project into a full band. Fast forward 2 years Wretches now has a full lineup and just released their first album "Dreamcrusher" on December 14, 2012. Wretches falls along the sludgier and doomier side of the djent spectrum. They have already shared the stage with some highly respect acts such as: Defeater, Code Orange Kids, Touche Amore, Birds In A Row, Ken Mode, and Former Thieves.
