Karnivool developed from a high school band formed in 1997 in Perth, Western Australia, which played parties using a set of covers of Nirvana and Carcass with some original songs mixed in as well. By 1998, lead singer Ian Kenny changed their set to entirely original songs, removed all early members and officially named the band Karnivool, derived from an anecdotal description that the original members were "a bunch of clowns" around Perth

We supported Veil Of Maya JAPAN TOUR 2012 on all date. Fortunately we could make a big contribution to spread "Djent" word widely in Japan after the tour. And our new song called T.T was climbed to the top of the new release (world) charts of MySpace. And we will share the stage with Between The Buried And Me[/band] and Animals As Leaders[/band] on Nov 2012 in Japan!!
TransMonerA started as an on-and-off project started by Zack Laznick and Glen Cavanagh. From the get-go, they really wanted to break away from the common djent scene and make all kinds of music. Rather than spending a great amount of time figuring out awkward song transitions and/or "ambidjent" cliches, TransMonerA concentrates on how to make their music catchy yet still have that progressive charm. Basically, they perfected a formula: the sound and intricate patterns of progressive metal mixed with the accessibility of good mainstream Rock music.
"if incubus, tool and meshuggah had a threesome, they'd name their child syqem." - salvadore dali in 1952
formed in 2001, syqem were some of the very early meshuggah followers, developing their own style till today, more melodic,
more song orientated. for non musicians, they could become THE gate to technical/djent/heavy music.
syqem is about feel, not showing off technical abilites, still they satisfy all kinds of different genre-lovers.
after 4 eps over several years, 2012 is the year of syqem. a new album will be released summer 2012.
Female-fronted progressive rock/metal quintet from Jacksonville, FL. Their style ranges from darker, heavy music, to catchy pop-punk with uplifting choruses, to ambient clean sections and plenty of musical intricacies to keep musicians hooked, all with melodic up-front female vocals.
