Keep us updated!

Musicians: what are you up to? Let us know!

Are you a musician? Do you think your music qualifies as 'djent'? Then got-djent.com is the ideal platform for you to reach the right people and build your fanbase. If you send us updates about what you are up to, we will write news articles about your music.

All headlines are featured on our front page, on our Facebook page and on Twitter, in order to reach as many people as possible.

New site feature: keep us updated!

We need your help - keep us updated!

A new feature has been added to the site: you can now keep us updated more easily using the text box in the sidebar. got-djent.com is a community portal, and it has always been possible for our users to submit new content: news articles, bands, releases and more. However, we realise that this is actually quite a lot of work, and in this day and age people are always pressed for time. That's why we've decided to make contributing a little easier.

The djent scene is still growing every day, and it's starting to become a daunting task for our moderation team to cover everything. We are starting to miss things. That's why we are counting on you to help us by pointing out news and bands that are worth posting on the site. Instead of submitting an article or a band page, you can just send us a link and we'll do the rest.

How does it work?

It's quite simple. You enter a link and a short description of the content in the text box at the top of the sidebar (top right of the page), and press 'Send update'. Your update then enters the update queue, which is regularly checked by our moderation team for new updates.

You have to be logged in to see the text box. If you don't have an account yet, you can create one here in a few minutes.

When an update is submitted, it is 'pending'. When a moderator comes along and sees the pending update, they can decide to make a post about it. They will then mark the update as 'in progress', to indicate that it's being dealt with. Once the post is finished, they will mark the update as 'posted'. This doesn't mean that the post will be visible on the site immediately - it might still have to be reviewed by another moderator before publishing.

If the content of an update is deemed unusable or inappropriate to be published on the site, it will be marked as 'ignored'.

You can view all the updates you've submitted at any time by clicking the 'View my updates' link below the text box. The 'My updates' page shows an overview of all your updates, along with their current status. You can also view each update individually and discuss it with the moderation team.

As always: if anything looks weird, please refresh the page as your browser may still be caching old files. If it still looks weird after refreshing, don't hesitate to contact us!

Help us out!

If you are an artist, we would appreciate it very much if you could keep us updated about what you are doing. Just send us a link to a blog entry, a Facebook status, your Myspace / Bandcamp / SoundCloud page, ... and tell us what's new. We'll post it on the site and link back to it, which in turn gives you more exposure. All news articles published on the site are also posted on our Facebook page, our Myspace page and on Twitter.

If you are a fan, feel free to keep us updated about your favourite bands as well! Just link us to what's new and give us a short description.

If you have more time, you can also submit an article or a band page yourself, and make our workload a bit lighter.

Join the team!

On a related note, we are currently looking for some dedicated people who would like to help us with writing articles and moderating submitted content. Our moderation team consists of volunteers who work on the site when they have some time to spare. All of the moderators lead busy lives, however, so sometimes there is a lot of work to be done and not enough time to do it.

If you are interested in joining the got-djent.com moderation team, you are encouraged to submit new content (articles, bands, releases, ...) that conforms to our internal style guide regularly. Regular contributors will be contacted and invited to join the team if they are interested.
