Periphery: new track 'Insomnia', online meet and greet


A new Periphery track titled 'Insomnia', the opener of their soon to be released self-titled debut album, is available on the band's Myspace page. The band also announce that they will be organising an 'online meet and greet' on It will only be accessible for people who have preordered the album from Sumerian Records. They will receive the required password and instructions on how to access it by email. It will take place on April 19th, 8.30PM EST (01:30 GMT, 02:30 CET, 5.30PM PST), the night before the album is released in North America.

Cyclamen: footage from Wellerhill session available


Cyclamen have posted some video footage from their session with Wellerhill Productions at the Fortress recording studios in London. Watch it below. A song from this session, titled 'Let Go', was posted in January. It is featured on the band's split EP with Haunted Shores that is coming out this month and is now available for preorder. The band used their friend Boris Le Gal as a stand-in drummer, because Duncan Lee could not make it to the studio.

The Ocean: 'Heliocentric' streaming on, new video


The Ocean's upcoming album Heliocentric is now available for streaming in its entirety from MetalSucks, for 48 hours only. The album will be released tomorrow in Germany, 3 days later (April 12th) in the rest of Europe and on April 13th in North America. It is available for preorder. The band have also uploaded a video about their song 'Firmament', which is the first track on the album after the intro.

The Safety Fire: drum preproduction video


The Safety Fire have posted a drum preproduction video for their upcoming debut album Grind the Ocean to their YouTube channel. Watch it below. The band were featured on radio's tech metal special last weekend (of which a recording is available here), where they announced the title of their album, which will hopefully be released by the end of this year. The band are almost finished recording the album, and are currently working on vocals and lead guitars.

Xerath: video interview available

3 has published a short video interview with Xerath. Watch it below. The interview was conducted at Hammerfest II, in Prestatyn, Wales, UK, where the band played on March 12th. In it, they discuss their new lineup and their festival experiences. The band recruited Chris Clarke as their new bass player last month, after Andy Phillips (guitars) left, and former bass player Owain Williams moved to guitars.

The tour update video that was posted last weekend and almost immediately taken offline again, has been reuploaded. Watch it below. Read the post from last Saturday for more information. At the time of writing, the contest information mentioned in the video seemingly hasn't been posted yet.

Heart of a Coward: tour diary available


Heart of a Coward have uploaded a new video taken from the Born from Pain and Shaped by Fate UK tour in which they are participating. The video includes moments of the band chilling and having some fun as well as them comparing their vocal skills. Songs featured on this video are Deftones - Diamond Eyes and some unreleased parts of the band's upcoming album which will be released later on this year. Watch the video below.

Meshuggah: new video interview available


A new video interview with Meshuggah guitarist Mårten Hagström and drummer Thomas Haake, conducted last month at the Soundwave festival in Sydney, Australia, can be viewed below. In it, they talk about the follow-up to obZen, their recently released live DVD Alive, the songwriting process, the evolution of their music over the years, the retirement of 'Future Breed Machine' from their live set, and more. It also includes some footage of their performance.
