christian djent/deathcore/metal bands
should quit.

Okay,
I am atheist and I believe there is no God among us, but I dont understand your comment.
Everybody should be able to express their opinions, other than: should quit.
I think "White" metal has its place in our community as much as "Dark" stuff.
I think Norma Jean are a really great christian Mathcore band.
And Extol are one of my favorites.
So dont spread hate because of faith connected metal.

I'll add my two cents.
I used to be a fan of Christian Metal with bands like, Stryper & Barren Cross. But with the addition of the harsh vocals, I really fell out of interest with it. Though bands like, Zao, Living Sacrifice & Soul Embraced got me back into the fold...a little.
The message doesn't seem to resonant the way it used to. Not that I was ever a religious person but, I was aware of a more significant impact, than what I believe it is today. Hell...lyrics in general don't do it for me anymore. Vegans and their hunger pains. Metalcore and their victimized theme's. I just have an awful time connecting with a lot of the singing nowadays.
But my objectivity suggests, if young people draw their strength & faith from whatever sources they feel comfortable with. Then all the power to them, I guess.
Edit: I kind of like the genre label, "White Metal". I hope more people adopt this tag, and try to do some good things with it.

Stryper!!!! Yeah
jeez benanne yall aint gotta be so uptight. I'm not trolling, I really think christianity is stupid! there's only like, billions of people who would agree with me, right? I was just saying I hate it when I get an album and then I'm listening to it and it seems like it has the potential to be decent... and then I notice the track listing, thats one of the ways you can tell right away if the vocals are totally unintelligible. There are times when I go to the internet to confirm it, but there are other times where it's painstakingly obvious, and I delete it from my ipod immediately by sliding my finger. Its impossible to take music seriously when you know it's written by people that I absolutely cannot respect in the least. I also find it nearly imopssible to be close friends with a religious person, or to date them. I'll be like "ok I guess he's a nice guy... who believes in miracles and magic and jesus and heaven and hell... man what a retard". Its kind of the same reason I also have never been able to like racists or listen to nazi-metal

Obviously that's not the point. The point is that you make a controversial statement and don't back it up. I don't believe that you'd be ignorant about the kind of backlash that could cause. The least you could do is tell us why this is your opinion, and why you felt the need to share it with everyone.
This is a discussion forum - topics are for discussion, and one-liners are rarely conducive to that. I'm just trying to keep this place fun for everyone.

There, that's more like it. At least now there's some food for discussion here. Thank you.
That said, I think I'll refrain from participating in this discussion

Im a nember of the cult of cthulhu. And hate christianity. But i somewhat like christan metal bands. They have intesting lyrics.. . More intresting thrn " wah wah wahmy girlfriend ib a whore".. Maybe its because they base their lyrics off a book maybe J.R.R tolkin metal will be the next big hit... Or H.P lovecraft metal \m/

I don't think you can "hate" people because of their faith or, even how they choose to express it. Because now your not stating an opinion by experience but, a prejudice by expectation. There's a lot of life that could be missed if you choose to be that narrow-minded.
I think all of our likes or dislikes have more to do with presentation than subject matter. If Dan Tompkins would sing a Christian rock album, I'm sure every member of this scene would give it the time of day. So I feel it's more, "how" they present their faith and less than "what" it is.

^ what he says. momiji, don´t be a hater.

honestly, i don´t think that´s more like it. this topic is based on ignorance and hate without any real basis. how productive is that?
