I have been having trouble downloading from; RapidShare & Mediafire.

How hard would it be for Got-Djent.com to be a free downloadable site. A site where bands could upload their ep's, songs, albums? Basically, could this site circumvent other downloadable sites the right & honest, legal way?

Tired of these links, apon links, that my phone does not support. Maybe, bands could donate money to cover costs?

Don't all the releases in the 'Free downloads' section have download links already (which are usually bandcamp links of the bands themselves)? In terms of having stuff to download on got-djent, I'm kinda guessing it would be tough to host all the stuff on their server.

Sometimes they are rapidshare / mediafire links as well. We accept any kind of link that allows for the album to be downloaded in one go without much hassle (so SoundCloud links, where each track has to be downloaded separately, are generally not accepted).

Indeed. We already use a CDN for the 'featured music' tracks on the front page, to save the server from getting hit too frequently. Unfortunately this has the side effect of the player being unresponsive sometimes. Since the software this site runs on is such a resource hog, we cannot afford using it for any other purpose (like, for example, file hosting).

Very hard. Unless someone donates us some space for it on a server that can handle the load. Then we could probably build some infrastructure around that. But that's unlikely, and frankly I think our workload is already pretty high as it is, and maintaining something like this would only increase it.

If anyone ever decides to set up some kind of 'free djent repository' like this, they will have our full support... but we can't do it ourselves, for the above reasons.

On phones I guess it's challenging, but if you ever have trouble with one of these download sites on a regular computer, have a look at JDownloader Smile

I don't want bands' money, it would just feel wrong to accept money from those who need it the most in this scene. Fans however are always welcome to donate Smile
