Hi friends one again I need your advise, my guitar have a lot of bass tone, sometimes feel that it can fill the whole amplitude, I wan to get a tide sounding that allow me to go over the guitar neck without having a lot of noise or pollution, so I gues I need to compress the sound or apply a noise gate, what you guys can adivise a a good option for this

noise gate is what you want.

use noise gate!!! with hard settings - very short attack and very short release. i don´t know much about stomp box noise gates (the foot pedal things) cause i just use the noise gate in my pod x3 and also the one in cubase to clean it up even more.
but still: use a noise gate for less noise and a compressor for more sustain.

Thanks Johnny, by the way man i was seeing your video tutorials, like a lot learn a lot waiting for the new updates really like how you consider elements that not everyone have conscience about, like the eviroment sorrounding, the room, the confort, the breaks i don´t know, I really like your perspective is not just a matter of sitting down an burn your ears it´s the whole process what is makes a good job...l thanks

O one more question I was reviewing the ISP decimator G but is far more expensive than the boss what you think it really works better for the money or is just branding

the electronics in the ISP may be a bit better but its a gate none the less. I'd just buy a 100$ pedal and get it over with since they really don't add much for color, in fact they take away color.

Keeley, in particular, makes a really good high-grade adjustable compressor pedal. Cons? It's pretty expensive. Compressors are an important part of your signal chain, however, so splurging may be in your interest. If you don't want to throw the cash around, there are other companies like BBE or MXR that offer simple guitar pedal compressors at a good price.
