Well the NAMM 2012 was this past week & I was over-whelmed with all the speculation! Some tid-bits of this & that, so I waited until the Ibanez website was updated! Boy was it!

I have an 8-string RGA8 2011 model, stock. Did buy Lundgrens M-8 pickups for bridge & neck. Could not have waited, but now Ibanez has a Meshuggah Signature RGA8 with M8 Lundgren pickup. Only for the bridge. On top of that, an RGA7 & RGA8 quilted maple grey over mahogany body! Besides mine...the most beautiful guitars I have every seen! RG2228ak with DiMarzio Pups, too!

I know some here can appreciate this, I had to post!

IBANEZ fucking fanboy...What!

Side note: Amazon.com is taking pre-orders on 'Koloss'...*facepalm*

29.4" scale length on the Meshuggah Signature. I would make a compensation joke, but its Meshuggah.

The cost of that M8 will be the same as a custom guitar though. Is there really much point?

Much point...? Not sure if quality of pickups matter to you? If your into the RGA8, it'll run you a little under 1k u.s. 1 Lundgren pickup, around $200 u.s.

Check Steve Vai's signature or Munky's signature, into the 2-3 thousand dollar range! A stock Lundgren guitar, Meshuggah sign-off, Japanese Luthier precision instrument...yeah no point there!

The Japanese luthier is worth the 2 grand price alone.

So instead of spending what I'm guessing is about $3000-$3500 on an Ibanez M8 guitar, you'd wouldn't spend that on your own custom spec guitar? Be about the same price without going overboard on inlays, tops etc.

Consider it's a prestige, neck through, 8 string, a signature series and an expensive pickup brand with large scale length. That's going to be one expensive guitar.

From what I understand...$8000.00. I know, I know..."anybody stupid enough to buy it, should get beat with it"!

If it had the pickups in both the neck & bridge, maybe...just thought some would like to know!

I was a little more stoked about the RGA8 & 7QM! Only about $750.00, stock EMG's. Though a guy on Sevenstring.com mocked one up with DiMarzio 7 Deactivators, in fucking white! Beautiful! I would custom the fret with ebony, with white or blue LED inlays!

Back to the M8M, that's the Meshuggah Signature Ibanez. Maybe a bit pricey, for $8g's! So your point is valid! I could think of some pretty awesome specs, for an 8-string custom for probably under $8000! For the 'Koloss' enthusiasts, perhaps no price is too much?

I'm waiting to see how many people buy it and do Youtube vids of "it's the ultimate guitar".

So with one less pickup to use for more money? Nah.

The QM and new RGD7421 are my faves.

Besides it being signed off on by Meshuggah, it would have limited range. It's design is specific for a specific sound! I guess people would buy it for the awe-factor, couldn't really see, for $8000, what else for. That's my objectivity speaking!

As an Ibby fanboy, I am excited about this mark of history! Maybe next time a Fredrick or Hagstrom Ibanez specific model! The Ibanez M8M, the New 8th Wonder of the World!!
