Supporting U2, haha. Nice to hear them say they think djent is doing it's own thing and don't think they're really ripped that much. Also Jen's advice on how to growl: "If your voice isn't hurting, I guess you're doing the right thing."

Nice words on djent, and just to point out and to hopefully end one side of the djent debate... The kings themselves said it, Meshuggah is NOT a djent band, and I'm glad they said it, because it sure solves one piece of the argument.

I think they handle the whole "djent" thing pretty well, glad to see that they support it. Also, it's always awkward to see bands' responses when asked about drugs... XP

That reasoning only works when you assume that a band has the ultimate say in what genres and tags describe their music. Something I do not agree with at all Tongue There was also a question about this on our survey, I believe Smile

I like it when people get pissed and say "djent is not a genre". Sure, the term started off as just a tone created by Meshuggah, but combine that tone with cool ass poly-rhythms, and you now have a new genre thanks to today's culture widely adopting this "tone + polyrhythm" style, and a "djent" band clearly sounds different from a thrash band. Tone + style = genre IMO. Off topic rant...

Yay, we so excited for Koloss!!!
