Periphery vid from yesterday´s show

thought I share it w/ you guys

shit man - not really my thing but this is TIGHT! Bulbs solo got nice and clean.
I think its Nolly?

This is Periphery at it's best for sure. Never thought Mark could rock the stage like that! He's doing a hell of a job. And Spencer's voice.. amazing. The half time parts make this song so much heavier (:

Spencer fucking nailed it tonight in Brussels
His type of voice may not be for everyone, but you can't deny he's one hell of a singer.
Yeah i pretty sure that it is Nolly, realised that after i posted, got confused as he was going to be playing guitar on this tour even after Mark joined the band.
They are sounding better than ever though

Guy's uploaded two more videos of the show. "Racecar" (full 15 minutes) and "Jetpacks Was Yes". Seeing this makes me wish they would re-record their debut. Sotelo sounds so much better now.

Spencer sounds a little better, but his tone is still pretty annoying and he's still pitchy. @GeN2Mo, even though Spencer isn't as horrendous as usual hearing this latest live recording only reminds me yet again that I wish they would re-record their debut... but with a different vocalist. Periphery is so frustrating, because instrumentally and songwriting wise these songs kickass! ugh. Guess I just have to tolerate Spencer and hope he keeps improving.

"Horrendous" seems a bit harsh. He has really grown a lot. Still pitchy, yes, but he seems to have settled in a tone that is much less annoying than his vocals on the debut album. More dirt in his cleans. Also, his extremes are much stronger now and thus don't sound like they're there just because someone thought they had to be there anymore.
Yeah, I too still wish they would have kept Barretto (seeing what he did on Ever Forthrights debut) and I dream for Sabol to return... but I'm pretty sure neither has a chance of happening.
And that means I have to trust Sotelo to get to a point where I actually really enjoy his singing. And I must say, he is beginning to get near it in huge steps.

I'm not saying he was horrendous in this footage, but when I saw Periphery last year on the Fair to Midland tour, I unfortunately feel "horrendous" is a pretty apt description for his performance that night. Maybe he was just having a particularly off night due to the monitors or something, but he wasn't just pitchy he was completely changing keys during sections of the songs where he definitely shouldn't be. I agree with you on his progress, and thankfully he is showing huge improvements and his growls are indeed monstrous now, but I just want to love his vocals as much as the instrumentals and it's frustrating to see their potential marred by merely adequate vocals. Just my 2 cents, and I'm really hoping his growth shows on the new record. I would die to hear Periphery with Dan Tompkins cleans and Barreto/spencer's growls.
