Probably scattered around through here but....what plugins do you like to use for different things?

For instance, I'm looking at getting Joey Sturgis Gain Reduction for vocals, what are some plugins you recommend for clean and dirty vocals? I've currently only used the stuff included with Cubase 8.

And what do you like to use for widening up the "space" on a track?

Basically, what are some wonderful little tools you've come across that work really well for you for vocals and mixing/mastering?

i'm starting to use a lot of synths to make leads sound a bit bigger myself (not really a mixing plugin but helps with the mix). Synth1 is my go to atm for that. It's based off of the old nord lead synth so it has that old school sound to it. futzing around with it for a bit you could get a pretty big super saw out of the synth as well.

I'll have to check in to that! I watched a couple mixing vids after posting this and realized there was a LOT i need to work on to increase the "space" more than just trying to find a plug-in for specifically that. Looks like i've a lot more homework to do, but i still gladly accept any input!

Joey sturgis gain reduction is a great tool. Love that plugin.

I recently in general have been moving towards a miniulist approach at least when it comes to my plugins. I've reformatted my computer and have only installed things I must have.

So for me I have my sonox pack witch covers my basics and then I use a fair amount of UAD for my flavour plugins like vintage compressor or odd EQs. Of course JST has a few great flavour plugins that I use. The multi band transient designer being really fun to use agressive and get to make artifacts.

For image width I have been using ozones imager. I have yet to find one that I find sounds better then ozone's. that said I also would suggest using it in a subtle manner as it's easy to get carried away with. I personally only use it on stereo bus' if at all during mixing and don't do more then one instance during mastering if needed.
