I'm starting this thread to explore new recording methods. post the gear you used to record your music!

my band uses 2 guitars 6 strings.
Japanese made Jackson v (not sure what model or whatev.) and a schecter hell raiser.
line 6 pod HD 500 for guitars.
pod hd 500 for micing up drums
sans amp for bass
pod hd 500 for vox
mixcraft 4.5 to record tracks.

If you can, post a link to hear a sample of your quality!

MOTU 8 pre daisy chained to another 8pre
sometimes rent 1073 and bypass my MOTU pre.
same thing goes for my ART MPA or API 512c.

I recently got rid of a lot of mic and bought new ones. currently use:
SM7b, SM57, SM58, beta52, AT4040, RE20, Apex460 (mod to c12), NTK, D6, D112, MD421, C42, NT5

Countryman DI, and a cheap DI.

in Reaper or Cubase, last 6 months been Reaper only.

and since people are listing monitors mine are:
KRK Rokit5, Neumann KH120 (going to trade in for sE Egg), AKG k271, k240, k701, and a lot more head phones. and just a week ago I sold my HS80's.

You have an awesome album for what you got Kimthebutcher.

My rig I didn't even bother listing the plugins I have or the outboard gear but its from 6 years of collecting and eating barley anything cause I "needed" this or that. only stuff I can show from me would be something I mixed not recorded and its not djent (POP in fact)

very nice, lots of you use cubase 5, is that better than say mixcraft 4? for recording metal.

Cubase is better independant of genre....so is Reaper...Mixcraft is functional though
