Tandjent: possibly working on new material

Tandjent's guitarist, Tim Stevenson, has revealed that new Tandjent material may be served in the future. It is still uncertain whether the songs will only be digital downloads or part of a new album.

Vira working on debut album, nominated for Danish Metal Awards

Vira have announced that they are currently writing their debut album. More updates on this are to follow soon, along with a couple of videos.

In addition, they have been nominated at this year's Danish Metal Awards in the category "Metal Talent Of The Year". Because of this, they will be playing a show alongside Subcortical Inertia and Eclipticon on January 16th.

Neurothing finish Murder Code tour, video available

Neurothing report that they have finished the "Murder Code tour" with Cruentus, Obsession and Empatic. A video of their performance in Poznań on November 13th has been uploaded to YouTube. Unfortunately, the audio is not live. Watch it here.

Meshuggah announce Live DVD release dates

Meshuggah have announced the release dates of their live DVD. They are:

February 5th, 2010 in Europe
February 9th, 2010 in the US

According to Metal Injection, the show featured on the DVD is the one they played with Cynic and The Faceless at The Fillmore in New York, on February 19th this year.

Periphery debut (probably) to be released in April

Entities's Misha Mansoor (AKA Hands Of A Saviour) has unofficially indicated that the delivery deadline for their long-awaited debut album is January 2010. According to him, this means the album will be released somewhere in April, if all goes well.

Volumes: unfortunate news to come

Volumes have posted a bulletin on their Myspace page, titled "Changes to come", in which they claim to have some unfortunate news that cannot be revealed yet, but it will be announced in a couple of days. They also state that they are not breaking up, although they will not be posting any new songs for a while, and what will happen with the EP they had planned to release is unclear for now.

Guitar Edge Magazine has published an article titled "Who's hot: Periphery" on its website. Read it here. Included with the article is a list of the gear used by each band member, and a "backstage video" in which Misha Mansoor, Alex Bois and Jake Bowen show off theirs. They also explain why the band has three guitarists, and how they take advantage of this by layering guitar parts.
