We are a recording project currently based in Hawaii. When we got started our style was more of a post-rock, indie kind of thing, but over the first few months together our sound continually evolved. After a year and a half now, we've found a very happy place doing a mixture of all styles of metal, and we always find a way to include some unique or fun elements into our songs.

Veil of Maya is an American Progressive and Death Metal band out of Illinois, named after the first song off of the album Focus by the Progressive Metal band Cynic.
Comprising Brandon Butler (vocals), Mark Okubo (guitar), Matthew Pantelis (bass) and Sam Applebaum (drums), they are currently signed to Sumerian records and have released three albums thus far: All Things Set Aside (2006), The Common Man's Collapse (2008) and their most recent release [id] (2010).
