But, as we all know, popularity and quality don't necessarily correlate. Some music never seems to get the attention it deserves.

Today, the got-djent.com moderators are pitching a couple of albums to you that they feel are worth hearing, but didn't make the 'favourite releases of 2011' list - some of the 'hidden gems' in djent. Contrary to our poll, which was based on over 800 site users' votes, the list presented below is based on the opinions of individual got-djent.com staff members, and it is important to realise that it does not represent the opinion of got-djent.com as a whole. Since it is one of our main goals to be a neutral community platform, we feel that this disclaimer is appropriate and indeed necessary.

Tomasz Huczek a.k.a. Deely has uploaded a tutorial video, describing how to program drums in MIDI, to his YouTube channel. Watch it below. Tomasz Huczek a.k.a. Deely is a very talented Polish solo instrumentalist who is known for his impeccable blending of sharp, groove guitar riffs with ambient electronic stuff. This combination gives his music special flavour, which makes it stand out among other bands and projects. After his recent debut full length release 'Unframed' we conducted an exclusive interview with Tomasz. You can read it below.


What is the meaning behind your alias "Deely"? How did it come about?

Tomasz Huczek a.k.a. Deely has released a new album, titled 'Unframed'. It's available for free download from his Bandcamp page. The first track on the album, 'Trial run' features a guest solo by Piotrek Gruszka. His previous work, the 'Ineave' EP, was released in May 2010 and can be also streamed or downloaded for free from his Bandcamp page.
