Awesome album, liked the fact there was only one moment with the clean vocals and it wasn't overly detracting, great riffs, awesome sound and production, not sure the dual vox works that well as get's a bit busy in places. Probably my fav "Djent" band atm next to AAL and Tesseract.

Anyway this whole top D-jent album thing will probably be pointless next year.................Meshuggah are releasing a new album.......Just saying that's all.

i know what you mean, i expected different, but i think we can all agree that it was an amazing album nonetheless, and that their creative integrity is admirable, as expected from artists of their caliber...

I am kind of disappointed about this album. This is a little like the Star Wars ep. I - phenomenon. My expectations were set sky high for this (or, more accurately, the album that were named "Irreversible") and of course it didn't met them. But when I think of it in more objective terms, this album still isn't that great. It's good, but not compared to other great djent. It's not even up to par with Vildhjarta's previous work. An example of that would be to compare the different versions of deceit:

Album version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPq6vWqIZBY ~~~ is ok

EP version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMX_BCLbtcw !!!! OMG !!!!

(This could have been pointed out before though I can imagine)

That said, I really like the vocals as well as the Knut-like drone-djent riffage now and then!

I hope you get my point, and I also hope Vildhjarta havn't lost their track. They are a most interesting band.

I love this album, very well made. Only one request though: release the album as an instrumental too.

sorry, good band but very monotone. No goosebumpmoments imo. These moments show me if i lile an album. These moments olny occured in traces. I mean, even meshuggah have them.
Dont get me wrong (i love dark musik like neurosis and cult of luna), but this album didnt get to me yet. Still just sounds like one breakdown.
I do dig the riffs though. Great guitarists.

This album blew the speakers in my car.

This stuff is actually TIGHT.`

nah i also gave it an 8, at first i thought "wow, this album is perfect!" but after a thorough listen and analysis, i don't know, i kinda realized it was awesome, but not a 10 as i initially thought, i love me some dissonance, but it was too much on this album imo, they traded a great part of their grooviness to sound evil, which i totally get seeing as the album is supposed to sound dark and evil... anyways it's still a goddamn awesome piece of music which i play regularly on my ipod, and vildhjarta will always have a special place in my heart as the band that introduced me to djent (tho i listened to meshuggah first)...

I gave it an eight. Maybe I'm the one person pulling down the average.

94 votes with an average of 9.5? This means everyone voted 10, which nothing deserves. You people need to learn how to think critically. Are you just sheep who will love anything you are given unconditionally? Such a sad fate of humankind.

Downloaded the two iTunes tracks last night. They are both instrumentals and technically should be one song as they blend together with no discernible gap in between. I need a download of the CMDistro-only track "To Be Continued".

has anyone else looked the album up on itunes? itunes shows a tracklisting that includes two tracks that i have not seen listed anywhere else called "of others" and "all for the sake" for a total of 15 songs rather than the 13 i thought would be on the album...i'm still awaiting my physical copy in the mail so i have no clue but i don't want to miss out on any vildhjarta tracks

Uneven's only similar in the vocal department. Good singer but not heavy enough for metal. By the way where the hell are the lyrics for this? It seems no one's uploaded them, what a shame.

if Uneven Structure sound like A7X to you, I'm not sure your ears are worthy of Måsstaden Tongue

Interesting concept so far, can't wait to hear the rest of this album though. I am relieved they're keeping true to the spirit of metal by leaving out the emo vocals, Uneven Structure made a 180 and turned into just another trendy A7X clone. The album art kinda looks like a place from Skyrim too Tongue

So I got the CD today and am blown away! Great stuff! I'd say they are wrestling with Tesseract for best "Djent" album of the year. Uneven Structure and Volumes are battling it out for 2nd place. However, Ever Forthright should be arriving in the next couple of weeks and has a serious shot at #1 on my list based on the 4 tracks I've heard!

It was good, but it wasn't anything special.

What a great album. I was very sceptical before listening to it but fell in love after the first spin. It does have its flaws though. The main issue being: flow. This is something TesseracT show great proficiency in and Uneven Structure perfected with Februus. Unfortunately it didn't seem to get too much attention on this release.

The worst part begins after Traces. Phobon Nika seems to fit in rather well at first but after three minutes of interlude (and don't get me wrong, they're great) things really have to pick up. Instead we get a weak filler track and only then does "When No One Walks With You" finally kick in. The thing is: even that isn't too gratifying because it's probably the weakest song on the album. It seems the band wanted to pad the central song (Traces) with instrumental tracks or something but I don't think it works.

Hmmm maybe these guys made "Djeath Metal" Because it's a lot like Death Metal but with djent guitars.
"It's a great album, for sure. Some of the riffs and vocals are brain-meltingly awesome, but i get a bit tired of it before the album finishes. The guitar sounds the same for most of the album, especially for a band that supposedly has three guitarists. I take it we'll be getting more of that for the live shows, because you wouldn't guess there were three from listening to the album if you didn't know.

Great album, yes. Worth over a year's wait for the release? I'm not so sure." I agree with you saying the guitar sounds the same, that's why I don't really like Nemertines, this album, and Idoler all that much because I think they're playing the same notes or something, it just doesn't feel like a different song sometimes and gets old quick. But that's a common issue in rock, since they're limited to their instruments and synths/digital effects usually aren't "allowed" in metal. What I don't understand is, why do all the guitars sound the same? It'd be cool to hear more effects or something to switch it up every once in a while

"Dude, will you friggin' change the record already? We've got it by now, you don't like vocals. Great, now let's move on, cause I don't think anybody cares anymore."
No-one ever cared, and that doesn't bother me, I know what kind of community this is and that's not the point. I'm saying this because apparently i'm the only one that likes instrumentals here, so I have to be the voice for them.

PS I cannot quote properly, where's the options for that in the help button?

Would be the most original release i reckon.Stands above every latest effort by peers easily.A welcome relief from all the watered down Djent being shoved down fans throats.

Got it today
Amazing in it's own way , Indescribable
Dagger is gonna be stuck in my head for days !!!

Thall.

Agreed

10. What can I say? It's amazing! I can't stop listening and it is like it plays in my head while I sleep, when I'm at work. Hell, whenever it's not on the music keeps playing. Vocals are sick too. Every part of the album fits and grooves together so well. This definitely exceeded all of my expectations. I hope my pre-order comes in early like Februus did(1 week early). Also anxious to hear "To Be Continued". 4:41 in All These Feelings is awesome by the way. Shit the whole album is! More like epic.

If you put it on repeat it doesn't have to end.

Amazing album. Everytime I listen to it I hear something new. The vocals are bone chilling especially over some of

the most unique music I've heard in a while.

Great Job Vildhjarta!

Less than two weeks from the official release and people are raving over the leaked material. Glad it sounds good to everyone so far! Any scope of the story? Can it be followed? Does the concept album feel like a concept album? Or is it just a really good piece of music?

Album is a masterpiece! I've listened for the past 3 days nonstop. Incredible work! Fuckin THALL!!

as if we're going to publish a leak of an album by a band signed to a major label, think it through Tongue

had it for less than 2 days and listened to it 13 times already. literally the only thing i listen to going to and from class and then even when i get back to my room. this album is absolutely magical

haven't been this proud of being swedish sicne I heard Meshuggah for the first time.
hoooooly macaroni, I NEED MORE!!!!

Best djent album since periphery. Hit up the leak its really one of the most mind bending pieces of music Ive ever heard.

FanTHALLstiс album!

How do you know? You haven't even heard it.

Edit: Oh, wait. Just found the leak.

absolutely album of the year. no doubt in my mind.

Cant wait for this album to come out. This is my favorite band for a lot of reasons. THALL

The order of the tracks is totally different on Amazon. Not sure which is correct. I think I prefer this one, though.

Come on benanne say it...say it...tell him off already HaHaHaHa

http://vildhjarta.com/downloads/ this fixes all prior vildhjarta download questions.

Dude, will you friggin' change the record already? We've got it by now, you don't like vocals. Great, now let's move on, cause I don't think anybody cares anymore.

Aw man, I'm hoping they bust out an instrumental version like Tesseract did... I'd totally buy this if they did that!

The City of Gulls awaits..

MASS HYSTERIA!

Also, I lolled at Måsstadens Nationalsång haha

Pretty psyched that Traces made it to the album. This is gonna be craaayzay.

if thats the case then who the hell rated it a 4

I could look into disabling ratings before the album release date has passed, but on the other hand today's reality is that a lot of people have already heard the album before it comes out Tongue

Fuck! I want a date on this album's release!

Yep, it's somewhat strange...

Ok I do kinda like these guys but am i the only one that finds it a litle stupid that the album allready has a 9.6 rating based on 50 votes when the album hasnt come out and people have only heard one song from it?

What's going on?

You can also download youtube video with song and extract audio track without any reencoding in aac format using FLV Extract for flv or Mp4Box (with Yamb GUI) for mp4 video. This is just a way for those who whants better quality Wink
