Well done!
The more I get acquainted with Polish musicians the more I become sure that this country is a source of real talents. One of those gifted guitar players is Piotrek Gruszka.
His music is pretty diverse and comprises lots of elements from fusion and prog metal. It also can be noted that Piotrek's music was mainly influenced by such artists as Tosin Abasi (whose impact can be clearly heard on the "Stellar" song) and Fredrik Thordendal ("Fermi Paradox" somehow resembles his "Zeta 1-Reticuli").
However, his music has its unique feature which is inimitable in its beauty cosmic atmosphere that is evident not only in the tracks' titles. It threads every song and makes them very mellow and, sometimes, romantic in their own way.
The tracks' structure is pretty complex. It's a combination of sophisticated melodic elements that often are substituted by sharp technical riffs. All these transitions make music more attractive and interesting. Despite constant changes of the musical mood, the main cosmic theme always prevails on the album. The songs are mostly calm and relaxing, but there sometimes are harsh pieces that don't let the listener to get bored.
In general all compositions are quite equal, but in my opinion the most striking here is "Aurora" that simply amazes by its melodiousness together with a beautiful mix of guitars and piano samples. It's just breathtaking! If all tracks on "Cosmogenesis" were so catchy and impressive, this release would become a total masterpiece.
Nevertheless this Piotrek Gruszka's work is definitely worth the attention of those who like melodic progressive music with some "djenty" riffs.
